GSN ANNOUNCES DEBUT OF “INSTANT RECALL,” NEW HIDDEN CAMERA GAME SHOW FIRST TESTS YOUR PATIENCE, THEN TESTS YOUR MEMORY
Produced By the Executive Producer of “Punk’d” and Featuring Game Show Legend Wink Martindale, INSTANT RECALL Premieres Thursday, March 4 Only on GSN
(Santa Monica, CA)—February 5, 2010 Combining hidden cameras, outrageous comic scenarios and tongue-in-cheek retro-style game show competition, GSN’s newest original game show series, INSTANT RECALL, makes its unforgettable debut on Thursday, March 4. INSTANT RECALL first tests players’ patience, then tests their memory as unsuspecting participants are caught on hidden camera in unbelievable situations—and are then quizzed on the experience for cash and prizes. Game show legend Wink Martindale and glamorous co-host Angela Daun host the competition and award the prizes, while decked out in classic game show style. INSTANT RECALL premieres on Thursday, March 4 at 8:30 PM (ET).
Each episode of INSTANT RECALL will feature two lively segments, during which an unsuspecting contestant finds him- or herself in an outrageous situation: a dad-to-be thrown into a highly unusual birthing class—with him in the stirrups; an unexpected “intervention” for a supposed shopping addict; a nail salon patron whose feet are soaked in chicken soup; a woman waiting at a restaurant who gets dragged into the lurid family drama at the next table.
Each wild scenario ends with the magic INSTANT RECALL words: “Do you like game shows?” Then Martindale and Daun appear in tongue-in-cheek, retro game show fashions—in fact, Martindale wears his own retro wardrobe in the series—to welcome the good sport to the competition portion of the show—in which the player is tested on the details of the event that just occurred. The more correct answers, the more cash and prizes!
INSTANT RECALL star Wink Martindale has hosted 19 broadcast network, national cable and syndicated TV game shows. Since starting his game show career with “What’s This Song,” Martindale has also hosted "Tic-Tac-Dough, "Trivial Pursuit, " "Can You Top This," "Gambit," "High Rollers," and "Debt." He produced the syndicated "Headline Chasers" in association with Merv Griffin and KingWorld, and he and his late business partner, Bill Hillier, were the first to produce real-time interactive game shows for The Family Channel ("Boggle," "Jumble" and others). In June of 2006, Martindale was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Actress and model Angela Daun, a Florida native, serves as co-host of INSTANT RECALL. Having modeled and appeared in commercials internationally, Daun has recently appeared on “Ugly Betty” and “Entourage.”
Filmed on location in authentic settings, INSTANT RECALL also employs the talents of a regular troupe of actors who bring the outlandish scenarios to life.
INSTANT RECALL was created and Executive Produced by Adam Tyler, Ron Deutsch and Gary Dawson. David Franzke, an Executive Producer of Ashton Kutcher’s celebrity hidden-camera show “Punk’d,” also serves as Executive Producer.
