GSN (GAME SHOW NETWORK) TO PILOT “THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE”

Santa Monica, CA – January 30, 2012 – GSN (Game Show Network) announced today it is producing a pilot of THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE, an original one-hour game show in which contestants compete based on their Biblical knowledge in a format that celebrates the central role of The Bible in American society and culture.  The announcement was made by GSN’s new EVP of Programming Amy Introcaso-Davis, who joined the network in November 2011.

THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE is a studio-based game in which contestants compete based on their knowledge of the Bible.  Utilizing current as well as historical references, questions will be drawn from the rich, dense narrative found in the world's best-selling book.  The contestants will share their compelling back-stories and each team will be playing for a charitable organization.

THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE is produced by RelativityREAL for GSN, with RelativityREAL’s Tom Forman and Embassy Row’s Michael Davies serving as Executive Producers on the project.  Nick Stuart and Maura Dunbar of Odyssey Networks are Consulting Producers.  Odyssey Networks is the country’s largest multi-faith coalition dedicated to producing and distributing media that creates understanding among people of different beliefs and perspectives.

Introcaso-Davis commented, “THE AMERICAN BIBLE CHALLENGE celebrates America’s passion for The Bible in an entertaining, unconventional format that makes The Good Book more accessible to the whole family.  With Tom Forman, Michael Davies and Odyssey Networks, we have assembled a first-rate producing team and we’re looking forward to this timely concept coming to fruition.”

Odyssey Networks’ Maura Dunbar added, “This is going to be a really fun project that Bible enthusiasts will love.  It’s an opportunity to celebrate The Bible, share stories of faith, and make a hugely entertaining show that will appeal to a large segment of the population.”

Tom Forman has served as RelativityREAL’s CEO since 2008.  He previously worked with Endemol, where he created and ran the hit ABC series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” for which he won two Primetime Emmy® Awards and two People’s Choice Awards.   He also ran Tom Forman Productions, where he produced series and pilots for CBS, and previously spent the bulk of his career at CBS News.
