GSN GARNERS WEEKEND RATINGS SUCCESSES WITH ‘FAMILY FEUD,’ ‘ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?’ AND DICK CLARK TRIBUTE
Santa Monica, CA – April 26, 2012 – Buoyed by its recently acquired “Family Feud” episodes featuring Steve Harvey as host, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?,” and a timely tribute to the late Dick Clark, GSN garnered several significant ratings achievements during the weekend of April 21-22.
GSN’s Harvey-hosted episodes of “Family Feud,” which air in a 7-day-a-week strip in the 5-6pm ET hour, doubled audience delivery in key demos (18-49 and 25-54) versus the prior 4-week average for that time period. On Sunday, April 22, at 5:30 pm ET, “Family Feud” delivered 587,000 P2+ and 207,000 P25-54, both single-episode highs since the series premiered on GSN last month.
The weekend was capped off by GSN’s most-viewed single episode in more than six years: the Sunday, April 22, 8pm ET airing of “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?,” hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, delivered 742,000 total viewers.
GSN recently announced that it has signed comedian Jeff Foxworthy to host the pilot of the network’s original one-hour game show, “The American Bible Challenge.”
As a remembrance to Clark, on Saturday, April 21, from 12p-2p ET, GSN aired a two-hour mini-marathon that contained episodes of “$25,000 Pyramid.” Each episode also contained an original tribute to the late entertainment icon. During that time block, the Clark retrospective delivered a 32%+ increase in P25-54 as compared to 2012 year-to-date data for the same day and time period.
GSN recently announced that it has a deal in place to develop an all-new, half-hour version of “$100,000 Pyramid,” to be produced by Embassy Row in association with Sony Pictures Television, with Michael Davies as Executive Producer.
